Earthquake survivors in Turkey and Syria are pleading for help
The impacts of the catastrophic earthquake in Turkey and Syria are beyond imagination. The vastness of the affected areas, harsh weather conditions, collapsed buildings, damaged medical centers, and blocked roads are hampering rescue and relief operations, adding to the disaster. In addition to the people under the rubble, the lives of the injured and survivors are also in danger. Moreover, war-stricken people in northern Syria and refugee camps in Southern Turkey are already struggling with the impacts of war. They urgently need help but the circumstances do not allow timely and sufficient arrival of aid. Human duty requires that those capable of providing any kind of help should not fail to do so. In such incidents, quick action in the early hours and days is absolutely critical. Even a little help might pave the way for saving lives and reducing survivors’ suffering. Remember, we are also likely to be the victim of natural disasters in the future!
